Bien que ses racines remontent à l’entre-deux-guerres et aux communautés afro-américaines de Harlem, ça swing aussi pas mal à Paris de nos jours ! Cet amour du swing en France, on le doit notamment à des acteurs culturels tel que Swingydibop qui fait vivre cette danse en organisant des cours de Lindy Hop et de Charleston ainsi que des évènements toute l’année.

Closely linked to the musical, dress and graphic codes of jazz, swing is a very rhythmic, spontaneous and often improvised style of dance. Although its roots go back to the interwar period and to the African-American communities of Harlem, it also swings pretty well in Paris these days! This love of swing in France is due in particular to cultural actors such as Swingydibop, who make this danse accessible by organizing Lindy Hop and Charleston classes as well as events all year round.
